Head Supply Chain Management and Import (0077RM)

Our client is the local subsidiary of a large retail company, which is part of an international group, one of the top major international operators of this kind worldwide by having over 250,000 employees in over 2,000 shops.

The Head of Supply Chain Management and Import will report directly to the Administration Director of the company who is Board Member, will lead a department of 19 people by having 3 direct reports. The position’s location will be within the company headquarters based in Bucharest.

General Purpose of the Job:

Being at the full expansion speed of its activities in Romania our client faces complex challenges to increase the value for customer and managing the costs’ drivers while respecting the corporate and legal requirements. For that our client has redefined its strong Supply Chain Management team with the responsibility to align the entire Supply Chain and to manage the service levels and costs of all contributors. The team has a new structure and needs an experienced professional on top, whose objective would be to lead it in the most effective way.

Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management framework

  • Provide the overall framework for the activities of the team by creating, implementing and improving the country Supply Chain Management strategy in line with the business strategy of the country and the corporate Supply Chain Management strategy;
  • Monitor market developments, technological innovations and corporate initiatives that can influence the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain.

Supply Chain Information Flow Management

  • Optimise the flow of goods from the location of the supplier to the stores’ shelves through creating and maintaining an overview of the country goods flows, the supply chain processes and their interdependencies;
  • Contribute to local Standardization organizations and penetrate the global organisation standards through implementation and penetration of the standards for electronic information exchange with suppliers and service providers with support of the Group service companies.

Supply Chain Controlling

  • Assure a seamless and consistent Information Flow between functions in the Supply Chain and alignment with country Process & Information Management System;
  • Implement an efficient and effective Supply Chain Controlling organization including procedures for target setting and performance measurement.

General Management tasks

  • Manage the Supply Chain Management staff in the country (resource planning, staffing, task; assignment and performance evaluation, training, general staff management) and the heads of other departments in the country to ensure responsiveness of his / her department);
  • Maintain the network to all contributors of the Supply Chain (e.g. key players in store logistics and category management, service companies, external service providers);
  • Monitor the applicable legal requirements and corporate guidelines and their implementation status.

Requirements:

  • University degree;
  • Minimum 5 years experience on management position within a multinational in the logistics/ Supply Chain Management environment;
  • Excellent knowledge of Romanian import and custom duties - related legislation;
  • Leadership experience;
  • Excellent personal and inter-personal skills, including the ability to influence at all levels to ensure effective decision-making;
  • Excellent presentation and communication/assertivness skills;
  • Very good knowledge of business English language;
  • Excellent computer literate;
  • Self-criticism and flexibility in thinking;
  • Creative and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure;
  • Strategic competences;
  • Very well organized and with an excellent structured mind;
