Marketing Manager (0076HM)

Location: Bucharest

Our client is one of the leading international pharmaceutical companies, dealing with research & development, manufacturing and marketing pharmaceuticals.

The Marketing Manager will be located in Bucharest, will report hierarchically to the General Manager in Romania as well as functionally to the Marketing Department in the Regional Headquarter, and will have 4 Product Managers and one Marketing Assistant as direct subordinates.

General Purpose of the Job:

Development and implementation of the overall marketing strategy for the prescription medicine business, based on the corporate business strategy and in close cooperation with Sales & Medical.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and coordinate implementation of the local marketing strategy with all needed marketing tools and instruments, based on the group product strategy;
  • To monitor and control day to day marketing activities;
  • To supervise and ensure proper organisation of major marketing events;
  • To ensure close and continuous communication with sales force and key interfaces (regional affiliates, product teams);
  • To continuously observe the market and analyse market developments and trends;
  • To contribute to cross-country and regional initiatives;
  • To evaluate the market and identify areas with high potential, thus forecasting market demand in view of planned future product lunches;
  • To lead the strategic planning for new product lines by penetrating new and existing markets;
  • To represent the company and establish and maintain close relation to key opinion leaders/decision makers in the therapeutic areas in order to reach a high level of cooperation;
  • To control the progress and quality of performance in the marketing department;
  • To lead the team and appraise and motivate the subordinated employees;
  • To decide on training needs and employee development programs;
  • To attract, develop, and retain quality sales staff, etc.

Requirements:

  • University degree in medicine, pharmacy, natural science or comparable background;
  • At least 3 years pharmaceutical marketing experience covering all marketing functions;
  • Management experience of minimum 2 years;
  • Experience in retail business is a must, additional experience in hospital is an advantage;
  • Experience in all areas of product management: developing and implementing the marketing plan (including resource allocation, PR & campaign plan, sales force communication, organizing events & congresses etc.), market analysis & review, leading the team etc. ;
  • Successful team builder with motivational skills and ability to maximise team performance; leading by example and being supportive and collaborative;
  • High competencies in market analysis; helicopter view of the business;
  • Experience in dealing with distributors is an asset;
  • Experience in co-promotion is an asset;
  • Contacts/network to key opinion leaders is a strong asset;
  • Experience in an international environment;
  • Excellent personal and interpersonal skills;
  • Strategic and analytical thinking;
  • Integrity and common sense; commitment;
  • Highly responsible, reliable, loyal;
  • Result oriented, decisive, making things happen;
  • Coaching and motivational skills;
  • High level of computer literacy;
